Kong Hwa is a SAP school with a strong Chinese-language community that fills up through Phase 2B affiliation — and that phase has balloted at SC<1 every year alongside Phase 2C. If you're relying on Phase 2C, the 1km ring around Guillemard Road and Mattar Road is your starting point, but even that comes with a ballot. This school draws committed families, and the demand is structural.

Maris Stella High (Primary) is a boys' Catholic mission school with a direct secondary pathway — and for Catholic families, Phase 2B is the most natural and reliable route in. Phase 2C has balloted every year at SC<1 with real numbers behind it. If you're a Catholic family with a son and this school is on your radar, Phase 2B affiliation is worth pursuing alongside proximity.

St. Andrew's Junior has balloted in Phase 2C every year at SC<1, with 104–130 applicants for 82–103 spots — and the school has a direct pathway to St. Andrew's Secondary that keeps demand structural. The 1km ring around the Potong Pasir area is essential, and you should still plan for a ballot rather than expect guaranteed entry from proximity alone.

St. Gabriel's had Phase 2CS ballot activity in 2023 and 2024 at SC>2 — minor competition at the supplementary stage, affecting only the most distant citizens. Phase 2C has been manageable throughout. If you're in the Serangoon/Potong Pasir area and want a boys' mission school without the intensity of St. Andrew's, this is the calmer alternative.

Farrer Park has never triggered a Phase 2C ballot, and the numbers show no sign of building toward one. If you're buying in the Kallang corridor, this school doesn't require any special thought about which block you choose.
