Cleris's take

Ai Tong is one of the most consistently competitive primary schools in Singapore — Phase 2C has balloted at SC<1 every year, with 78–94 applicants competing for around 40 spots. The streets around Bishan Street 11–13 put you inside the 1km ring, but even with the address, a ballot is likely. If this school is your anchor, you're making a property decision, not just a school choice.

Cleris's take

Catholic High has a direct pipeline to Catholic High Secondary, and that through-train appeal drives demand across all phases — Phase 2A, 2B, and 2C have all balloted consistently. If your son is your primary consideration and Mandarin education matters to your family, being within 1km in Bishan is the foundation of your registration strategy, but it won't guarantee a place on its own.

Cleris's take

Kuo Chuan Presbyterian has balloted three out of four years in Phase 2C, and Phase 2B has also seen competition — it's a mission school where being active in an affiliated church opens Phase 2B, which is the more reliable route. For everyone relying on Phase 2C, the Shunfu and Sin Ming area puts you within reach, and the ballot distance hasn't reached SC<1 every year, so it's competitive but not brutal.

† Vacancies remained after the ballot closed — demand was real but not extreme.
